Like, they have to get these main events on earlier because it's like talking about the Lamar. Even though it's Saturday and I should be just up. No, I'm not up.

If it starts at like eight there and we can just get it to start here at like eleven. Because I feel like it's the midnight starts, but UFC's the same way, so there's no right answer. I don't know. And I I was trying to do like more boxing, and nope, now we're just gonna drink.

SPEAKER_00Yeah, I want to hear his opinion. I love talking to like when we talk to like people in the boxing though, and the guy that grew up his whole life and an actual fighter. I love that shit. So hopefully we don't get ditched, but we might. It is what it is. I said 8 39. If it goes to 9 15, we got ditched. Because if you're 15 minutes late, you're probably a white guy. Zepeda Vs Roach Fight Reactions
SPEAKER_00Here we are. Uh so yeah, Lamont Roach versus not Shakur. That was uh last time. Lamont Roach never faced Shakur. Lamont Roach versus William Zapeda in a pretty good fight, I thought, you know. I thought it was a pretty exciting fight. One guy controlled the action, and he's all action. All action. William Zapeda, he threw like I think nine or eight hundred eight hundred or nine hundred punches total, which is insane. That's crazy. Um, won almost every round. You know what the problem with Lamont Roach was for me? Yeah, he was tagging him, he was tagging Zapeta with the but then on the inside, I don't know if it was because Zapeta just was relentless with him throwing. Yeah, but when he would tag him with clean shots, he wouldn't follow up with combos. It was kind of like he was watching his work, yeah, or just waiting for to see if he stumbles. And and after he landed like three or four, because Zapeta does get hit. Yeah, he he didn't follow up. If he followed up with a combo to the body or something, I I think he would have done well. And another thing with Zapeta is there's not really a lot of power there because he was landing all kinds of shit on roach.
SPEAKER_04I mean, when you throw in volume like that, the powers you're not gonna have power. It's all like back work, it's like when you just touch and touch and touching. That's what he's doing.
SPEAKER_00You know what this fight reminded me of? And I think what this is a positive for Zapeta. Yeah, when he fought Tevin Farmer, he had some trouble, and Tevin Farmer was kind of doing that. That's crazy, yeah. That pop shot, same kind of shit.
SPEAKER_04That's crazy that Tevin Farmer gave him more trouble than Roach did.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. And I think he learned, and that's the thing with Zapeda. He he's learning as he's going.
SPEAKER_04Learning, yes, definitely.
SPEAKER_00And that's really good. It also shows you how how damn good Shakur Stevenson is, and I know different styles. But I I feel like Lamont Roach is defensive like Shakur, he's just more of an inside fan.
SPEAKER_04I felt like that fight was closer than what people seem make it seem. Yeah, true, true.
SPEAKER_00And we was there, true. You're right.
SPEAKER_04And I felt like it was I really thought Zapeta pulled it off, honestly. But I guess I didn't know what the hell I was watching.
SPEAKER_00I mean, no, you are right, you are right. It did, it did seem pretty. That was the most we've seen Shakur get hit.
SPEAKER_04We don't really know how the judges score shit, so it's like we get fucked up in the game where we thinking like, yo, this spike is going this way, and it absolutely don't, but when you hear people just hyping Zipada up while they fight, he's fighting Roach, and it's like, oh, we know Zapeta just clean sweep them.
SPEAKER_00And you know what? That's something too. We could ask Chris Algiri when if he comes on. Like, what what is this because nobody knows? I know what judges look for, but what is like is there like a school that the judges go to, and it's like what three things are you looking for to score around?
SPEAKER_04I feel like judges just got their personality and what they like. Yeah, like they have their own opinions on how fights should go, and and I think they're starting to get too old to be scoring these new fighters, yeah.
SPEAKER_00We need some younger uh, I wanna I want to pick his brain on that because not like this Lamont Roach fight had what the right man won won every round, but yeah. Um I I definitely want to pick his brain on that.
SPEAKER_04I think we definitely need some younger judges soon. Like, so uh Puma should have got his uh judges.
SPEAKER_00I was I was about to start we can really like side note, side note, I was gonna do some shit out of amateur judging, but they were very uh the USA boxing was was very demanding for free judging. Yeah, so they were very demanding to me. It was like almost felt like boot camp in there.
SPEAKER_04Um so yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying. So we just need some younger judges, I think, because it's like I don't know. We don't understand it. Um I get confused a whole lot with the judges' scorecards, and it's and it's been outlandish a lot. Like scorecards have been all over the place lately.
SPEAKER_00So um I think what he's referencing is the Shakur Zapeta card. So I mean any card. Yeah, no, there's always our girl. Yeah, that was crazy. There's always one judge that you're like, oh alright, throw that one out, but it shouldn't be like that. And I get I get like maybe a round or two off, but not every damn round.
SPEAKER_04This is where like when now you know uh Zapeta versus Roach, they had the open scoring. And um That shit's whack too. Yeah, I don't know how I feel about it because it might be a good thing, it might be a bad thing. We don't I don't know.
SPEAKER_00But they do it like I didn't watch the fight because I got new hours at work, so I have to re-watch the fights,
Judging Confusion And Open Scoring
SPEAKER_00so I just watch round by round. I don't uh look at the middle stuff. Did they do it like in the middle of the fight?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so it's like every I would say four rounds. And they just announce it, right? Yeah, they while they're fighting. While they're fighting.
SPEAKER_00That's so gay. I mean corny. That's so corny.
SPEAKER_04Oh god, we canceled that.

SPEAKER_04Yeah, um, no, I don't know how I feel about it for real. Um it's good and then it's bad. Uh it's I don't know. At least as long as uh Turkey's not doing it, like just saying out loud to his fighter.
SPEAKER_00Nah, but I don't know. So I I told you, I I mentioned this once. I I had actually dinner with a ref and a judge from from New York State, and I asked him, I was like, why can't they put the scores on the TV, like each card? Um, and his answer to me was because that would cause more crap going on. Because think about it, it's like, oh, if we're judging and and you got tank and you gave him that round, I'm like, oh well, next round I gotta give it to Tio, no matter what happens, because oh yeah. So you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04It's hard. So do you think in the near future it's gonna be AI judging?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but you can't have that either, because that stuff's wrong too. Yeah, so like and what I mean and like it's if AI would just go by punches, you can't go by like power punches, like you know what I mean, effective punches. So it's always gonna be a human.
SPEAKER_04Uh chip in a in a glove or some shit.
SPEAKER_00Like if you like if we're fighting and you jab the hell out of me, right? And you're jabbing me, your jab's landing, but I'm I'm landing some clean lefts, right? Like clean head snapping lefts, and I'm controlling and I slow your jab down, right? Say I slow your jab down, and now I'm controlling the action. There's just so many discrepancies. Too much, too much. Yeah, it's too much, too much room for you need a human. You need you need that. Um, what's the word I'm looking for? Um, I don't know, but you need that, whatever that word is. But now, now what is what is next for for Zapeta? He's got a belt now, got a little chip.
SPEAKER_04Um Zap, I ain't gonna lie. Zapeda's worked for everybody in that division.
SPEAKER_00Abdullah is crazy. I want to see Abdullah Mason. He was there.
SPEAKER_04Abdullah Mason. I ain't gonna lie. I ain't gonna lie. Yeah, he's I don't know if Abdullah got that grow man power to keep him off. Because um, you need grown man power, but in Abdullah Mason. I think Mason has the power. Abdullah Mason is gonna is gonna fight. So he's gonna have to be conditioned, well conditioned for this.
SPEAKER_00I think I think he has the power though. You're saying because Abdullah Mason has more power than Roach. Yeah, no, yeah. I think he has the power to do it. I just is he gonna be able like Roach when he counters and and then Zapeta's still coming at him and those ones that didn't knock him out.
SPEAKER_04And it's crazy how William Zapeta looked so bigger than Roach. That's probably another thing. Roach, yeah, Roach was uh he was he's usually fighting smaller fighters and another good fight who on the undercard.
SPEAKER_00Um I think we made a little bet, but we squashed it. I don't really know. I don't even remember what that was.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we made a bet that you was gonna he was gonna stop him. I told you can say so lasted.
SPEAKER_00We're talking about Raymond Muratala versus Robson Canseisau. I like Muratala, man. I really do.
SPEAKER_04Oh, he is he is talented. He's talented, but he looked it frustrated because yeah, but can say so bad. Just awkward. He's just a weird, awkward. I told you. I told you. He's racking up these losses, though. He's racking up these outputs. Um I didn't I thought that the fight was close and did what I thought, but uh what it was what it was for real, but it I could see that route. I could see how because he was yo, I More Tire his output was tremendous. But here we are again. I love how his output was.
SPEAKER_00Here we are again with Ken Saysao, and I said this maybe a year or two ago. Another belt. This dude has the most title shots I've ever seen. I think he's had like five or six. Uh I don't, I didn't check. Like five or six title opportunities with no fights in between. He just keeps taking L's and getting a title shot. Takes an L gets another title shot.
