THE SPAR-INN EPISODE 45 BETERBIEV VS. BIVOL DRAMA: JUDGING CONTROVERSY, FUTURE FIGHTS, AND SAUDI SILENCE!
What happens when raw power meets strategic finesse in the boxing ring—and the judges are left to decide the victor? The latest The Spar-Inn episode tackles this conundrum as we dissect the controversial showdown between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol. Despite both of us feeling a bit under the weather, the adrenaline from a weekend of boxing chaos kept us on our toes. We dive headfirst into the drama surrounding Beterbiev's majority win, examining the fight's dynamics and the ripple effects of judging on fans, especially when Bivol's early control seemed to fade against Beterbiev's relentless power. As we chew over the decision, we ponder the role of Saudi Arabia's strict policies on the notably muted audience.
It's time for the main event. It's the Sparin' Podcast. Oh, it's a knockout.
Speaker 2:And what up? What up? Episode 45 of the Sparin' Podcast. William Puma on the ones and twos the mics. Yeah, what up? Y'all we are? This will be a short and sweet episode. We are a little under the weather both of us. Yeah, I'd say a little run down. Weird today. Weird, why weird?
Speaker 1:I don't know, I just felt kind of sick. But yeah, I'm the one I will. The dude I was driving with on Saturday night. Well, friday night, Sunday morning.
Speaker 2:You just said every day of the week.
Speaker 1:Whatever, but I had to work this Saturday. This guy was sick coughing all day. I'm like yo, they didn't tell me you was sick.
Speaker 2:I wasn't even never. Also, we were watching a fight last night. You guys may have heard of it. Huh, it's a barbecue. A fight last night. What about I'm a little run down from the fight last night? After the fight we got a little drunk a little drinking A lot of eating, a lot of drinking. Yeah, I had a little barbecue, a little BBQ.
Speaker 1:Yo nah, this guy put my weights until summer's over to have a fucking barbecue. It was fucking freezing out.
Speaker 2:It really wasn't. It was not that cold, my black ass was cold. At night, but not when the Bivel fight was on 6pm.
Speaker 1:It was fucking cold.
Speaker 2:Yes, it was. It was fucking cold. It was not that cold. Yes, it was.
Speaker 1:It was fucking cold. I don't know what the fuck you're talking about. He went away all the fucking season. Yeah, I didn't do anything back then in the summer. I didn't have a fucking barbecue.
Speaker 2:But this is one cool thing about the Saudi fights Artur Beturbiev vs Dimitri Bivol. It was on at 6pm and we got to watch a fight at 6 pm.
Speaker 1:That's the best part. But then it felt like it was like yeah, that was the only. What the fuck are we going to do now?
Speaker 2:Yeah, it was a little, because usually when the fights are over, everyone's pissed, drunk and goes home. Yeah.
Speaker 1:We're just like alright, UFC got a weird card on. Let's put money on the football team. It's been a football game. Oh my gosh, bro Lost more money.
Speaker 2:I'm broke. Let's get into the fight. We're obviously here to talk about Artur Beterbiev or Beterbiev. I say Beterbiev, it might be Beterbiev versus Dmitry Bivol For all the belts, all the marbles. This fight was supposed to be one of the greatest fights of our generation. Best versus the best. I don't got to explain it, but it was a little lackluster, I guess. For the not-the-casual boxing fan I'd say Definitely a little lackluster. But I just want to talk before we get into the fight and the fight itself. There was, I guess, some controversy in the decision. It's no secret. Piterbiev won. He got the majority decision in the victory for all the belts. But before that, let's just, I didn't really watch the undercard too much. I'm not big on the UK fights.
Speaker 1:Besides, my boy, ben Winnicott, went over the ropes Like it was WrestleMania.
Speaker 2:That was a little crazy, but I think, like that they're saying there's like some conspiracy there. It was planned Like he just wants to go viral.
Speaker 1:Like everything he does, get the fuck out of here, but he got hurt. Yeah, he got hurt.
Speaker 2:Then they said he's not really hurt. I don't fucking know.
Speaker 1:My girl Sky. Oh yeah, yeah, sky, she dead. Nicholson, yeah, she beat boxing.
Speaker 2:Yeah, she's nasty too. I just didn't watch it and ESPN only. I didn't do it with DAZN. I didn't buy it for 20 bucks on DAZN. Yeah, because I didn't really care about any of those fights, honestly, except for Petr Biev versus Bivol, petr Biev versus Bivol, however you say it. Now let's just talk, though, about the Saudi fights themselves. First of all, they bring out all these famous people right in the crowd, so they bring out all they had Buster Rhymes there.
Speaker 1:Buster.
Speaker 2:Buster Douglas, buster Rhymes apparently they did like a performance too. I don't know if they did like a we didn't see that on the ESPN and whatever they had all the stars out as usual. But I'm very grateful and happy that the Saudis are putting money together and putting these fights that we want to see on, definitely. But the whole experience itself from a spectator watching on TV.
Speaker 1:It looked like a whole.
Speaker 2:That crowd was dead. There was no crowd noise. Oh yeah, that crowd was dead. There was no crowd noise. Oh yeah, that crowd was dead. You heard the people chanting Artur, artur, artur.
Speaker 1:During the fight yeah, Absolutely. No fucking ooze eyes, no fucking rooting, no fucking.
Speaker 2:And it's kind of like it's underwhelming, it's very underwhelming.
Speaker 1:Why is nobody like us, like we on the side of?
Speaker 2:the fight Exactly. Why is nobody?
Speaker 1:amped. Like us, we are the side of the fucking thing. We spent all this money to sit there in Saudi Arabia to not fucking scream their fucking lungs out and root for who they want to win.
Speaker 2:And you need the regular fans, the real regular boxing fans, there to go crazy, and you know what this is going to sound crazy, but you can't drink alcohol there, to the best of my knowledge. So, that being said, you need some drunk hooligans in the crowd to amp shit up. Wait what?
Speaker 1:You heard about. Yeah, you can't drink alcohol.
Speaker 2:Nah, it's like part of their culture and religion. They don't have alcohol there. Whatever, don't quote me on what it's part of 100%.
Speaker 1:At the fights.
Speaker 2:At the fights. I don't know if they set a different rule, but I remember the World Cup was there. That was like the big thing for the soccer. They couldn't drink.
Speaker 1:That shit is corny.
Speaker 2:But they need like.
Speaker 1:That shit is so corny then.
Speaker 2:It's great. It's great that they're putting these fights together. It's not great that they put all these restrictions?
Speaker 1:Where's the drug fans at? Everybody on their best behavior and shit. That's not what you need.
Speaker 2:The best example I could give is like the baseball games and like Major League Baseball. You don't go to a live baseball game, sit 300 yards away to watch the game. You know what I mean. You're going there for the experience. You're going there for that drunk white guy bald white guy like myself behind you screaming and yelling, spilling popcorn. You're going there for that stale beer smell like, oh, take me out to the ball game. And that's kind of like boxing. And I'm not saying you got to get crazy and be obnoxious or whatever, but there's a feel, there's a vibe. Yeah, and the saudi fights to me are just missing that vibe. You know, they're missing that like real fight fan experience.
Speaker 2:Like what's the best thing I love about going to live boxing fights is everyone around me is a boxing fan, knowledgeable, screaming their lungs out, going crazy, and you need that and I think the fighters need that too. They're going to perform no matter what. But it was just very lackluster and dull that's the good word. It was just a dull crowd and the Saudis they need to figure that out know they need to. How do we get fans from all over over there? Nobody, we're not going to saudi arabia to watch a fight. How do we, how do we make it cheap enough for them? You know that there's a lot to be done there, which is why I don't. While they'll still be involved in boxing and put these good fights together, I don't think it's gonna last because, like, at a certain point, you're going to need to bring us there.
Speaker 1:Yeah, oh yeah. So they're going to have to do the whole production somewhere out here yeah.
Speaker 2:And they tried with the Cali. But think about this, though. So they should know that, because what's his name? Turkey? They call him Turkey. That's his name Alashika I don't pronounce, I'm bad with names. Obviously, if you listen to the show, you know that, but so, so this has got to be. He's got to be seeing it too. He's not a dumb guy, by any means. So they just had the fight in the uk, right, joshua dubois? That sold out wembley. Yeah, that sold out wembley stadium, dude, and that place was rocking. You couldn't hear people speaking. You couldn't hear the announcer speaking. That's a real fan base right there, and that's what they need. They need to bring some of that energy to Saudi, but I don't think they're going to do that, and he had to feel that too, because it was just so dull in that crowd, dude.
Speaker 1:Even him. Even him when they show him. He's dead silent, he's not like yelling. He's not like, he just.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but he's like a real fan yeah he's a real fan.
Speaker 1:He's a quiet fan.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I just don't think the Saudis are big boxing fans, which is fine. It's just you got to find a way to get like people from all over the world there. Make it cheaper, Make it easier. They got enough money, shit. Send a flight to my driveway.
Speaker 1:We'll hop right in and get over there yeah, they're gonna get a crew bring the sparring out there.
Speaker 2:We're gonna be screaming usa, yeah, we're screaming, whatever, whoever we're rooting for, whatever we do, nah, but, but that's all. It was just a little dull, but the fight lived up to the hype, in my opinion. For a boxing fan, for a non-boxing fan that doesn't watch boxing religiously and didn't really dissect this fight, they probably didn't like it. It was probably boring quote-unquote boring, yeah, but the chess match of the fight itself was good to see, it was annoying to watch, yeah it was annoying.
Speaker 2:So I know what he's talking about. Go ahead, speak on it. I know what you're talking about.
Speaker 1:What am I talking about? Talking about? What I'm talking about, just go ahead, speak your point. Um, it was just annoying to watch because we just wanted arthur to do something so he came out hot in the beginning of the round. I was talking about it now because and he came out hot, he was throwing a stab into the body.
Speaker 2:Stab into the body, I'm like. But while he came out hot which he was he was stabbing the body, doing what we want him to do. Yeah, he was losing those rounds. Yeah, he was stabbing to the body doing what we wanted him to do. He was losing those rounds. Yeah, he was losing Because Biffle was doing his thing. Biffle won the first three rounds. Yeah, three or four.
Speaker 1:So it's like yo he's stabbing to the body. He forgot the whole body by the half he started headhunting the whole time. But when he hit him to the body he heard him that one time?
Speaker 2:Yeah, a few times.
Speaker 1:To the right to the body. I'm like why he stopped doing it. I don't understand why he stopped stabbing to the body. It's like he forgot the whole game plan. I don't know who the fuck they train as the coaches. Yeah when is they at? People are saying it.
Speaker 1:It's something like stab him, yo go to the body. Sometimes, even when he was had him hurt, he still didn't go to the body. He's still punching him in the head like head hunting. Oh, that's the only thing he needed to really work on, or he tried so hard to get him out of there yeah, but I don't even know.
Speaker 2:He just needs to go the body more. That's really. He did everything. What you're gonna do against a guy like bivel yeah, bivel's no slaps. This was, this was numero uno versus numero uno.
Speaker 1:Yeah, bivol got a chin man Got a heart. I don't know if he had it.
Speaker 2:He just didn't get hit clean. I don't know if he had it. He has a heart, but I don't even I'll get there when I give my take. So Paterbiev needs to just do the same thing if they were to fight again. In my opinion, do the same thing if they were to fight again. In my opinion, just more of it, and go to the body, add that wrinkle. Just go to the body.
Speaker 1:If he would have just went to the body religiously the first six or seven rounds, by the end of the fight, when he starts going to, the Bivel would not be able to move like that.
Speaker 2:And that's easier said than done, obviously, but this was one of those fights. So the controversy was that, oh, bivel won, bivel killed him, buterbiev won, no buterbiev, and you, you can make an argument for either, or that's how close it was yeah, you can make an argument, but I don't see how how um they can give bivel a fight, but he survived.
Speaker 1:I feel like he survived a lot of them last rounds.
Speaker 2:So that's where I was going to go with this. In history in boxing right, in boxing history, not all the time, but a lot of the time, when the best fight the best, and I'm going to give some examples here and I'm going to say it again but Loma versus Tio right. Lomachenko versus Tiofimo right? No, I know, but it's a good example. So Tiafimo won the first half of the fight, clearly. Loma squeezed in some rounds there the second half of the fight, but then what, in my opinion, won it for Tiafimo?
Speaker 2:was 11th and 12th, he bit down on the mouthpiece and won. Another good example where it was a draw, which I think this fight should have been for the record, I think Bivol Baturbev should the record.
Speaker 2:I think bivel baturbia should have been a draw. Jermaine taylor verse uh, winky right, winky right was winning. Way back, yeah, when winky was winning the whole freaking, the whole freaking fight, and then the last two rounds, he just, nope, didn't take it and it was a draw. Taylor came back and was like crushing him. So so, that being said, you can't just ride off into the sunset, and I don't know if Bivel did it on purpose, but he clearly lost the last three to four.
Speaker 2:I don't want to say clearly, but the last two rounds, the championship rounds.
Speaker 1:The 12th round was kind of up to grabs, though Maybe it was close. I guess he was throwing the 11th, though.
Speaker 2:Turby, if we thought he was going to get him, we were going to get him out of it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, at first In the 12th round Bivel came out a little hot.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, but then slowed down again, slowed down again. Paterbie came back. So this is where Bivel at the post-fight he said he's like no, I could have done better, I could have done better. And he's being humble, which is awesome. I gained a lot of respect for him in that aspect.
Speaker 1:He don't have no excuses for it.
Speaker 2:But the fact that he says I could have done better. If you look at the end, when the fight got over, he punched himself in the head, so the fight ends and Paterbiev's like and.
Speaker 1:I don't know if that was confused about that, like it was like he punched himself in the head. It's like oh man, I made it that usually you punch yourself in the head, like I made it or like oh, I did it or yeah I'm a fucking dog, I don't know.
Speaker 2:But then hearing him speak, though he was like I could have done better, I could have done more, I could have done more. So him saying I could have done more. And then, when you're a champion, right it this. This is when it counts. Champion finishes out and Paterbiev was in there the whole fight.
Speaker 1:The whole fight.
Speaker 2:he was in there. We're not saying this about Paterbiev. Bivel boxed beautifully. Bivel did a master class boxing performance, but Terbiev's power is so strong.
Speaker 1:He didn't even sit down on, no punches. That's the crazy part, he did not sit down. He just popped, tapped and tapped and then it is fucking. You see this Bivel face.
Speaker 2:I've never seen someone block shots with his hands up like that yeah, get hit, block clearly, clearly and still get tossed halfway across the ring like that's how strong this guy is, and I think that has a lot to do with it so this fight could have went either way, depending on how you judge fights right. The pressure did mean something to me staying on the back foot the entire fight like that and throwing in pop shots, throwing and landing more.
Speaker 1:He threw in some combinations. That's what kept him in there. When he would turn, he would turn, and then he would throw in combinations.
Speaker 2:But this was quality versus quantity, and the quality of punches, even blocked, were way more effective.
Speaker 1:The crazy part that Bibble was supposed to be the more volume dude and Arthur just threw a hell of punches more punches than him. I, I'm like what is going and another thing I want to say that we would never throw. Arthur can win on points.
Speaker 2:No, we never thought no, no and and listen, some of these judges had it too far.
Speaker 1:I agree, and actually eddie hearn I'm gonna play a clip hard.
Speaker 2:That's, that was too yeah too, but I'm going to just listen up. Eddie Hearn was not happy, and here's what he had to say.
Speaker 3:I don't want to disrespect Arthur Betabier and his team because they're just incredible fighters, but I find it sickening that after a lifetime of hard work, dimitri Bivou is not undisputed champion tonight. He won that fight. I struggle to find anybody on our road, a road behind on the TV rows, who didn't score the fight to Dimitri Bivol To find a judge. Give that fight 1-16, 1-12, and give Dimitri Bivol four rounds in that fight. This judge should never work in the sport again and I'm sorry and everything you're going to get out of Dimitri is I can do better. It's boxing. I take the judgy scorecard but I don't buy it Because you don't deserve that after that performance. It was an absolute boxing masterclass. It was the perfect performance and you know what he can be better, but that was just a pure show of concentration and skill and defense, with offense thrown in.
Speaker 2:So he clearly is sticking up for his fighter wasn't happy and I agree and disagree with a lot what he said. I agree that the fight wasn't that close, but but here's one thing like so we see better bf's power right from the tv yeah now imagine sitting ringside. Imagine sitting ringside right and you're hearing that.
Speaker 2:Now you're adding that, that, that other sense of sound yeah and you're hearing those shots and seeing bivel constantly block them, nipping them, not always hitting them clean, but still getting tossed and ragdolled around the ring. There's something to be said there for the judging. Like you could throw little shitty combos here and there not shitty, I'm sorry, but you could throw little combos here and there, land some whatever good combos and then when you get hit with a combo back and you get flown across and ragdolled across the ring and you're sitting there in person seeing it you could see it way better, him being affected.
Speaker 1:yeah, but that's why I'm saying how off the like off the got hit with those combinations and then he just came forward.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, he was about to, he wanted his shit back. Uh-huh, he was never in like trouble.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's what kept him like that's what kept him in the lead. For me, there was a point too.
Speaker 2:I thought Bivel's legs were going. It looked like his legs were going. He looked a bit off balance In the beginning too, Yep.
Speaker 1:Legs wide open and just yeah, that shit was crazy.
Speaker 2:The beautiful thing about both of them, though, is they both said yeah, we'll do a rematch, I don't care. That's the best part about this. I just hope it's soon, because Better B is getting old.
Speaker 1:I would have been okay with the draw because I definitely felt it. I felt it and I bet it.
Speaker 2:I think I went in there and I say lackluster. I wanted someone to get knocked down.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:And there's something now, too, to be said. Not that it better be if it's tough, but Biffle's power, I don't think, is all that at that weight class. He finally got a stoppage in his last fight.
Speaker 1:He ain't doing that with Canelo either?
Speaker 2:Yeah, but Canelo's chin is crazy, so I don't hate him for that. But besides that he was on what a 5-4-5 streak of no knockdowns. It's been a few years and people are like what the hell? And then finally he gets. Gets one, but he had to work for it in his last fight and and again he's fighting perturbiev. But his, his power. He needs some more zip on it. I think he's throwing those combos, he's landing, he's timing them, timing's great bivouac's timing is immaculate. But he definitely needs a little more power.
Speaker 1:I don't know how you do that, how you train for that I don't, I don't, I don't, like, I don't like how everybody in the comments of these videos and shit are just like people won. He got robbed. I'm not robbed.
Speaker 2:It was no, definitely no right.
Speaker 1:But that's what I mean.
Speaker 2:That's what it's crazy, not robbery. You can't be chanting robbery. You close fight. Could have went either way close fight. I went the other way. Crazy the scorecards were a robbery.
Speaker 1:He didn't even do enough to win. If you ask me yeah, he didn't do enough to win the fight, yeah, so by that, being said, it could have been a draw, but he didn't do enough to win the championship rounds matter in stuff like this, Like when you're a champion, right. Yeah.
Speaker 2:The 11th and 12th round matter, because champions go out there and do champion shit I because champions go out there and do champion shit. I don't think he did champion shit and to the other degree, I don't think Paterbiev did championship level shit.
Speaker 1:It was a classic boxing matchup. I feel like Arthur just was forcing himself. He was trying to force his knockout. Yo take the body shots D. That body work was horrible.
Speaker 2:When he goes back and watches film. I hope he's like, damn, I should have went to the body. Yeah, he would have been, he would have he would have been got like low.
Speaker 1:You know what I'm saying. Maybe I knocked down if he would do something more to the body man. It was just. Yeah, I mean it was like we screaming we always hear screaming at the tv. Yo go back to the body, like you just headhunting the whole time and rocking him back and forth. And Biff would know how to fucking move man.
Speaker 1:He just back and forth. He know how to move for a big-ass dude man. But I didn't see nothing too crazy from neither one of them. I expected more, but I mean, it was a great fight, it was.
Speaker 2:It was great.
Speaker 1:For the pure boxing fan, it was a great fight, I think they should have just gave it a draw so they won't piss everybody off. Yeah, a draw, I'm okay with.
Speaker 2:Yeah, because they was beast, Because you could, like I said, People was beast in that same Bivol won. Any fight where you can make an argument for both sides should be a draw.
Speaker 3:Like we can make an argument for both sides.
Speaker 2:But I will say this too Like he won, he won. Bivol was killing him the first few rounds. He won those rounds. I said it when we were here. I was like Bivol's winning these rounds though he's winning these rounds, like you could tell, the power is there, but Bivol's winning these rounds, middle rounds, stole a few here and there. Could have won either way, but the 11th and 12th, in my opinion, were Pterbiev, and that's when you win the 11th and 12th in a fight like that, it goes to that guy yeah, I just don't like how people be going and they going in like do y'all even know boxing really?
Speaker 2:like, if you both them, though both those fighters beat everybody else in that that weight class. I mean, I guess you could make the argument we don't know david benavidez yet. David benavidez is going to be a problem for them yeah but based. But based on David Benavidez's last performance at 175,. Maybe if he gets hit, he gets hit Like he's there to get hit.
Speaker 1:David versus Arthur.
Speaker 3:Imagine going like that that's going to be. I don't know.
Speaker 1:Betabida, betabida.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you're going to fucking word scramble like crazy.
Speaker 1:Betabida versus Benavidez.
Speaker 2:It's going to be hard to say.
Speaker 1:This shit is going to be crazy.
Speaker 2:And you know what? Prop it to Benavidez, because he's about to fight David Murrell. Nobody wanted him, people were ducking him and Benavidez was like, no, I'm up here, I'll take him and that's going to be an interesting fight. Let's see what he does there. Yeah, he's come off that injury, but let's see what he does there. Let's see what Benavidez does there before I take my claim. But right now I think the style-wise Benavidez is going to get hit with some shit by B Evan.
Speaker 1:I think, but he throws hella combos.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, and punches, and punches.
Speaker 1:Who's going to be on the back foot?
Speaker 2:That's a great fight too. There's some fights to be made, and even Bivel in that mix, I think the rematch is going to happen also Shit. I think David get Bivel too, yeah well, apparently they sparred back in the day. I think David get.
Speaker 1:Bivel, I think, because now that style two styles, it's going to be hard for Bivel to do that same shit.
Speaker 2:Yeah, when you cut Bivel off and keep him in the.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:He likes to stay in total control. I think, though.
Speaker 1:I don't like how David's been pop-shotting lately he's been doing the Canelo shit.
Speaker 2:His combos need to cut.
Speaker 1:Yeah his combos is like Luxor now yeah.
Speaker 2:But if he does, though, when he smells blood in the water, he goes for it. Yeah, I don't know, but if you do that to Bivov right, you smell blood in the water you might get run into something like Bivov did that. Piranha, Piranhas are coming right.
Speaker 3:Bivov ran into something yeah.
Speaker 1:He ran into a right and he backed up immediately. That's what I mean he thought he had him.
Speaker 2:That's what I mean, like he had him and he thought he thought he had him that time and he hit him with that right. He might, in my opinion, better be. F might be the most powerful guy in boxing right now I swear to god like man he's so powerful he's still so powerful. He was ragdoll. He was blocking shots clearly like oh he wasn't sitting down on nothing.
Speaker 1:I've never seen imagine if he really sat down and turned this turn something. No, he just one two, one, one, two, one, two, one, one, two, maybe a hook. One two, one, one, two Straight punches, that's it. He was throwing at him and Biffle fucking face looked crazy.
Speaker 2:Yeah, the black eyes. I'm not even kidding. Biffle was blocking a lot of those.
Speaker 1:Blocking, but you can't block all those.
Speaker 2:I've never seen that in boxing like this, like at this level, when you block a shot clearly and you still get tossed across the ring.
Speaker 1:Did you see that shit where he said Canelo hit harder than Arthur. Yeah, yeah, sit down in the interview, nah.
Speaker 2:He's bugging right, he's talking shit. Yeah, he's trying. Nothing against Canelo for you, canelo people.
Speaker 1:No, he's capping, though. There's no way Canelo did not leave him. No nuggies like that. Nah, dude Off with just straight punches.
Speaker 2:Yeah, nah, no way, oh man. You know what's an interesting fight, though, if Canelo was to move up to 175 again.
Speaker 1:Canelo don't need to move up, no more.
Speaker 2:No, I know, but I'm saying Viterbia versus Canelo style-wise. Canelo's chin is fucking nasty. That's an interesting fight right there. That's an interesting fight. Canelo is smart, he can box. We can't take that away from him.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but he started sitting on the ropes with this guy Sitting on the rope with Bibble and shit.
Speaker 2:Just sitting on the ropes trying to do his little rope-a-dope. I mean size-wise too. I don't think Canelo likes when they fight like that, but still the in-and-out movement of Bivel is different than that of Better BF, so I think that's a good fight right there too, canelo versus Better BF.
Speaker 1:I mean I'm here for it.
Speaker 2:Shit. That's a good fight right there too, Canelo. Better be it. I mean, I'm here for it. Shit. What else we got? That's really it, I mean.
Speaker 1:So that's basically everyone's going to argue he want that Bivel fight back though.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I guess he says he does. We'll see. I think Canelo's on the way out man. He's just collecting checks and getting out of here.
Speaker 1:Well, he's losing all his belts, he's got all of them at 168. I thought they took one away.
Speaker 2:Did they? I don't know. I don't pay attention to all that, I just know the man who beats the man. That's how I follow it. It was a good day 6pm fight Barbecue Watched a good fight. I just wish it was a little more exciting. I think, honestly, in my opinion, as a fan, the crowd had a lot to do with that for me, it was definitely the crowd. I'm like we're watching it and we're hyped.
Speaker 1:Our house was bumping. Yeah, we was fucking.
Speaker 2:And I'm like.
Speaker 1:We was into that.
Speaker 2:This don't sound like usual, like, ah, like, okay people there, but they're not going wild, so Saudis need to work on that. They need to bring some hooligans in there. They need to fight in the crowd. You need to fight in the crowd or something. You know what I mean? It's the way. It is Good day of boxing. Nonetheless, it's got everyone talking, chirping, bringing eyes to the sport.
Speaker 1:I guess it's definitely hot news right now.
Speaker 2:Yeah, of course.
Speaker 1:It's fucking crazy. There's a lot of opinions on the fight. Everybody's going to have their opinions and shit. I'm trying not to argue with nobody.
Speaker 2:But you could go either way and make An argument for either side. Yeah, you can. It's great for boxing though.
Speaker 1:But it's just like the.
Speaker 2:If one of those fighters Just make it a draw bro. Yeah, I think it should have been a draw, yeah, oh, then what do we got?
Speaker 1:October they wanted to give that belt away. Oh yeah, that's another thing they fucked up on Another undisputed belt, just what they need.
Speaker 2:Another undisputed belt, just what they need. Another belt. Stop with this belt. Shit bro, we know, we know. I like the four champions, fighting champions.
Speaker 1:Niggas over here look like a chandelier. What the hell they look like a chandelier. They got one on their neck, one on the waist, two on the waist. I saw a rainbow one yesterday. I'm like what the fuck is that? The pride belt? What's?
Speaker 3:going on.
Speaker 2:There's so much shit going on. That's the other thing he's trying to fix, boxing allegedly you would not make another belt. It's cool, it said undisputed. But give him a trophy or something.
Speaker 1:You don't need all that.
Speaker 2:A fucking medal, or something, but they're both world-class A1 fighters and it was good that they got done and they're going to have a rematch.
Speaker 1:And Bivel is fucking a dog bro.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, and it's not taking anything away from Bivel. Bivel boxed his ass off and. I would have got if anybody else in that division is going down from Turbine. And this is the first time in history of his career that no one got knocked down.
Speaker 2:So if and I felt like he just said he was celebrating that like yo again- though I've never seen getting blocked like that that many times and flying across the ring he just ragdolled, which was crazy. And another thing again I'm going to reiterate is that the judges are sitting ringside. So him getting ragdolled like that, getting hit like that, and then hearing that and seeing that constant pressure with those punches being thrown like that, it's something to be said there like there's something to be said there, that's all definitely great fight, great fight.
Speaker 2:I want to see it again and I think a rematch now would be way better.
Speaker 1:It's going to be way more money.
Speaker 2:Someone's going to go for it, they know what to expect.
Speaker 1:It should be way more money.
Speaker 2:Hopefully that's in Vegas so we get some real fans in there, some real boxing heads in there.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I'm sure that they don't want, because some people are talking about because he's Muslim and shit. They don't want to over there.
Speaker 2:It's okay to like joke about that, but I mean, no, I don't. You could joke about it like that's not what. The judges had nothing to do that's what your man's fossil said, and shit probably because I was joking with him and said that he's copying what I said. But nah, he's stupid, he was just upset, man.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he was bad.
Speaker 2:He's a very biased fan.
Speaker 1:Very biased I don't understand how he got so biased just because he beat Canelo.
Speaker 2:That's what I was thinking, maybe because he lost money.
Speaker 1:I don't think he likes Bivel. I think he liked Bivel because he beat Canelo.
Speaker 2:Maybe I don't know.
Speaker 1:That's his man. Beat the shit out of Canelo?
Speaker 2:No, I'm't know. That says man, Beat the shit out of Canelo. No, I'm just kidding. But down the pipe, down the pipe. We got some fights coming up. Nothing too crazy. There's Juno Nakatani fighting October 14th in Tokyo for the WBC title. Nakatani is going to win, though, so I'm not even going to wake up to watch that. I like this fight, though. October 26th we're going to preview it next week, but I'm just going to mention it. Jack Catterall vs Regis Progray Now, Catterall is coming off a big win.
Speaker 1:I'm rocking with Jack.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you think Progray, this is a big fight for Progray because he loses this one it's night-night.
Speaker 1:He's probably on the way he Night-night. He's probably on the way. He don't have no footwork.
Speaker 2:So we'll preview that. We'll preview that we're going to cut this show short.
Speaker 3:He has no fucking footwork.
Speaker 2:And then in November boxing we got Jaron Ennis versus Karin Chizudukian. I don't even know how to say it. Jaron should win that fight. It's time for. We'll preview that too. I'm not even going to get into it.
Speaker 1:Fuck it, that's in Philly again right.
Speaker 2:Yeah, november 2nd though we were going to go, but we can't now. I mean, you can, I can't make it. Our guy, jahai Tucker, is back on the card.
Speaker 1:He's on the card.
Speaker 2:Oshaki Foster rematch versus Robson Canseo. I really wanted to go to that, that's going to be good. Yeah, so we'll be watching that top-ranked card. There's some good boxing lately, man, it's just Boxing's on a heater.
Speaker 1:bro, when are you going?
Speaker 2:I got to get a surgery.
Speaker 1:Oh, we're not going to talk about it. Yeah, now, we're not going to talk about it.
Speaker 2:I mean, I'll still go.
Speaker 1:Sniff, sniff.
Speaker 2:Getting my little balls played, with All getting my little balls played with All right anyway.
Speaker 1:Oh shit, that whole shit was funny. Yeah, yesterday we had a hell of a joke. I was getting roasted.
Speaker 2:yesterday they put me in a fucking roasting oven. I was like a Thanksgiving turkey sitting there plumping drunk, putting it in the oven.
Speaker 3:But that's really it.
Speaker 2:That's really it for this episode. We'll keep it short and sweet. Can't piggyback off last week's episode. That was a great one. Yeah, that was. Hopefully no technical difficulties here Down the pipe, though I have some interviews lined up with some champions and some almost champions, but we'll get that going. Yeah, that's really it. We good, I think that's it. We'll close it out In the rematch who do you have Bivel or Baterbiev?
Speaker 1:This? Is I got to stay strong with Arthur man. I already re-bet a fossil already.
Speaker 2:If it's within the next two years. Yeah, maybe a year next year.
Speaker 1:It got to be next year. Yeah, it got to be the next fight. Yeah, I agree, yeah.
Speaker 2:Maybe a year Next year. It's got to be next year. Yeah, it's got to be their next fight. Yeah, I agree. Then I'm back in Baturbiev, but if it's anything after that, yeah, because he's old.
Speaker 1:Nah, he's old, he's good, great shape, but Great shape Old yeah. All the power career. Yeah, his amateur career had to be Usyk, I think.
Speaker 2:beat him in the amateurs. Oh, he knocked down Usyk yeah he knocked him down, but Usyk beat him, I think still.
Speaker 1:Oh, they be wilding. That shit is crazy man.
Speaker 2:You got to remember too, after this Usyk Fury fight, he's going to go back down, I heard. So he'll go back down to that weight. That's another crazy wrinkle who.
Speaker 1:Usyk, you think he's going back down he said he was.
Speaker 2:He said after the Fury rematch, I'm probably going back down. He's like it's hard being a heavyweight, so that's another one. He debuted in 2013. So he fights a lot, though they're always in the gym. But hey, good for Canada. They got themselves an undisputed world champion. He claims Canada, and good for him. They both made 10 milli each, I think, or more.
Speaker 1:I don't know the exact numbers. The next fight might be even more. I just hope.
Speaker 2:The next fight is in Vegas.
Speaker 1:I hope it is out here too.
Speaker 2:That crowd was so dull. I appreciate you guys putting the fights on. Seriously it's good, but there's no. That energy level in that arena was just that's all we got. See you next week. All right, get a spar in. Now a word from our sponsors. We don't have any sponsors. Adios y'all.
Speaker 1:Thanks for playing, yeah, there are.
Speaker 2:Show the shirt. It's not a sponsor, but we like that.
Speaker 1:They make good gear Shit. It feels so nice, All right.
Speaker 2:Peace.
